TDE’s in-house crooner Zacari has stepped out of the shadows to drop his sophomore project Bliss. In the five years since his last full-length project, the California resident has clearly put a significant amount of time and effort in this effort.

Zacari’s vocal range allows him to take on everything from smooth, synth based beats such as “Truth Is” to Memphis trap instrumentals like “Bliss” with ease, sticking to his higher register as he transitions between soft crooning and wailing.

Dramatic instrumentals laced with hypnotic 808s give the project a tense atmosphere as Zacari cuts through the background with rapping performances on “Berserk” and “Nocturnal,” setting the scene for some of his more unconventional vocals on “Believe” and “Bless Her Heart” featuring Blxst. Features are few and far between on this album, with labelmates Isaiah Rashad and Ab-Soul adding contributions. Notably featured is BEAM, who ironically caught a stray from Kendrick earlier this year due to his affiliation with Drake as a writer.
