New York “sexy drill” inventor Cash Cobain has been taking over as he collects features with some of our favorite artists, creating a new wave with his ear for samples and simple but catchy melodies.

Though drill music has generally been characterized by violent anthems often referring to the crime-ridden environment that artists grow up in, the producer-turned-star has redefined the genre to focus more on partying and women. This transition has attracted mainstream attention following “Fisherrr,” his collaboration with fellow New Yorkers Bay Swag and Ice Spice. Though this rise to fame may seem sudden to some, Cash has behind-the-scenes in the mainstream for years, producing and writing hits for Drake, 21 Savage, Lucki, PinkPantheress, Central Cee and many more. His strategy for becoming the face of sexy drill has been relatively successful so far, garnering collaborations with Lancey Foux, Teezo Touchdown, Don Toliver and J. Cole

With the exception of the largely negative response to “Grippy” featuring J. Cole, this campaign has skyrocketed Cash Cobain to the spotlight, paving the way for him to continue his own rollout with his highly-anticipated single “Rump Punch,” which already had a viral dance trend prior to its release.

Check out Cash Cobain’s latest single below while we wait and see what he has in store for fans next!
